Gas prices still to high? save on gas with this gizmo

I took this photo back in early May and had been meaning to post it. Consumer's including myself have been complaining about the outrageous gas prices all over the country. Some have said, that gas prices have fallen, as far as I'm concern, gas prices have not yet fallen far enough!

I have heard that Michigan  leads the country with the highest in price, but I'm not certain if that is a fact or not,  I do know that gas is still  4.00 bucks a gallon and some angry consumers' suggest that we should fight back by parking our cars and opting for a bike instead...

"Well how do you like this gentleman's bike?

I assume he may be homeless, but that's not the point,  take a look at his car bike!...what-cha- think? you got to admit that it's quite unique.

  1. He put some serious work into this...bike/buggy/car. You can tell how proud he is, but I am thinking you are right about the homeless thing.

Interesting billboard over his head. Just saying.

  2. Linda I had just notice that sign after I'd taken the photo, isn't that ironic. I really impressed with his bike.

  3. Um yeah, unique. My hubby and I can both walk to our workplaces and boy walks to school. I have always lived in a place that I could walk to a grocery store and a pub (handy for walking home...) that's how we save gas. Oh and gas is expensive here too - heck, we are on an Island and we have to get it here.

  4. Necessity is the mother of invention they say.
It would be awesome if everyone did something like this. Even for a week.
    Cool picture.
We are at 3.79 right now.

  6. Hi Vetsy, My niece & her hubby were visiting from CO and were shocked how high gas prices are here! Also, I ride my bike on quite a lot of errands and love it. :)

  7. I'm hearing this a lot and just don't understand why Michigan is so much higher.

I love riding as well... for me it's more then just exercise, saving on gas, etc. It can be meditative and calming... especially if your riding it on a scenic route.

  8. Gas prices is also on the rise in my country. It has affected our cost of living and we gotta crack our heads to live frugally. In Malaysia, we have something like that in the picure. We call it 'beca' and when nicely decorated it is used to ferry people around.

  9. Yes Autumn Belle, I've have seen those and I really like them too. I would love to have a 'beca' they are cool, convenient, and cute.

That is a work of art, it seems to me. In the list of blogs that I follow the one just above yours in the list is Vespa Vagabond. Last year I started at the first post and read all the way through; her trip was quite an adventure. Recently I read in the paper that more of these are being sold now that gas prices are going up. I'm not surprised.

  12. Barbee' I love that Vespa Vagabond 250, you are right, it would not hurt at all to own one of those for convenience, fun, and adventure while saving on gas. Thanks for sharing, I left a comment on her post.

  13. Dear Vetsy, Your gentleman looks proud of his bike, and rightly so! I would be afraid to ride one in today's traffic. But then I don't like to drive a car anymore, either. P.x

  14. The same here Pam... it's scary thing in these days to ride either one.

  15. I enlarged the photo to see the details. That looks like red duct tape on it. He does look proud. He made use of what he had. I wonder how it rides.

  16. He rode it pretty well and seemed to take his time. I'd love to find out how fast or slow he was able to ride it, but didn't him any more after that photo.
